#throwbackthursdays is a thing and I love it! There are times when we look at an old photo and immediately we’re transported back to that time and place. I love looking at pictures of good times. I especially like going through old photos of my daughter.
I marvel at how she’s grown and changed. I am so thankful God made me her mom. I think to myself, where did the time go? Oh - how I remember it like yesterday when I would rock her to sleep, which was my favorite part of the day. Holding her close, feeling her whole weight sink into my arms, knowing that she felt peace and security there with mommy. When I look at those pictures I feel joy deep in my soul. In those moments I can feel the stress and anxiety of the day just melt away.
I want you to know that God also asks us to “remember Him”. There are so many versus in God’s word that tell us to never forget His goodness, His promises, His love for us. I like this verse in the Message translation especially, “I remember it all—oh, how well I remember— the feeling of hitting the bottom. But there’s one other thing I remember, and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: GOD ’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They are created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with GOD (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.”
Lamentations 3:19-24 MSG
Would you do this today? Have a GOD THROWBACK MOMENT! Go back and remember the good things God has done for you. When He brought you through that dark season you thought would never end; when He healed you...saved you. Remember He is good when everything and everyone is telling you He doesn’t care. He loves you and His love doesn’t fail. If you’re having a hard time remembering, ask Him to show you His love and NEW
mercies today. He’s faithful.
